Dave Query is co-owner and founder of Big Red F Restaurant Group, an independent family of 13 tastefully crafted restaurants and bars along Colorado's Front Range — including Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, Centro Mexican Kitchen, West End Tavern, Velvet Elk Lounge, and The Post Colorado.

Dave has a long history with food and cooking in Boulder, Colorado starting at beloved local fixture Mustard’s Last Stand, where, at a young age, he learned about the very gratifying return of cooking someone something to eat and having them fully enjoy it. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, he earned his stripes at some of the best and busiest kitchens in Chicago, San Francisco and New Orleans, all the working days off at every dive that would take him.  

Upon returning home to Boulder, Dave combined forces with some of the hardest-working, most visionary chefs and hospitalitarians around to create a family of exceptional restaurants along Colorado’s Front Range. With the goal of bringing people together at the dining table, Big Red F has been throwing great parties every night for three decades and counting. Query is also deeply committed to service to others and gives back to the community directly through local and national charities and non-profits, advocacy work, teaching and mentoring.
